Green is beautiful :3

How green am I?

Well, I'm not one of those people who collect cans or gathering tons of paper and take them to a recycling center. My help the environment is smaller; I try not to throw papers to the ground, turn off the lights and TV when I'm not watching and I take a bath as quickly to avoid spending lots of water. They are simple things we can all do; I teach my younger cousins this kind of thing that although it is the least, any act helps the environment. I think this is a small act that everyone should do and doesn’t require much sacrifice.

Each time I go to the university, I see how people don’t care about their environment. The stops are full of papers; they do not care the small plants and throw cigarette butts and do not care if they can start a fire and so there are many examples of people they don’t care what happens to the world. The society is not very polite to this topic, for my part I taught myself, nobody told me I had to do. When I was a child I got angry with people who litter the street so I promised not to be that kind of person. I try to convince my parents to be more aware about this topic, but as they are old it's hard to change their minds.

In Chile is not given the opportunity to be "green mind" and if there are very few. Today, more people join cycling, but the streets are not made for them.

There is still hope to save the world, we just need your help :)

Is a plain? Is a bird? No, is supertomato!

Hello everyone, today I going to talk to you about Genetic Modified Organisms (GMO):

Before all, what exactly are GMOs? In simple words refers to the genetic modification of some organism. But how? For example in food, genes from one species are introduced to another to be expressed in this "new food". The features are best genetically compared to one that was not modified and this modification makes it more resistant to pests or rot. This topic, genetically modified foods has generated controversy because according to someone is harmful to health, however it’s not so much the damaging effects on our bodies, I think it's mostly afraid of something that we are not aware.

Apart from the food, genetic engineering has been used in many fields such as research, therapy and companion animals. These themes have not caused many problems because they are not things we deal with every day directly, as in the case of food. As I said before, people think it's bad because it is unknown and don’t know the benefits it can bring these changes in different areas like increased productivity for farmers or cure for disease. Practically all the disadvantages about GMO is based on theories, there are few studies that support that are harmful to health or the environment.

According to the International Council for Science asserts that GMO don’t generate any damage to the environment, as there is strict control over this matter.

So this is it, I see you next week

Bye :)

Seed. Planta. Life :D

Seed. Planta. Life :D

Hello again, today I going to talk to you about my future job :) The first time when I hear “forestry” I imagine working with the nature, outdoors, in a forest, with animals, feel the sun and wind all day. I don’t like work in an office, I hate being locked and sitting behind a computer writing data or reports that no one will read.

In the two years I've been studying I learned that I would work in sowing and see how plants grow, what in forestry means working in a nursery. The reason I like the nurseries is because I had to do some work of sowing and watch how it grow, It's like when a mother sees her son grow. I have the opportunity to go a nursery, they are located on roads (out of town) and the tranquility with which you work is awesome. Every day I see my dad angry at his work, I don’t see happy, if not because he has to feed us, he would have renounced long time ago. That's why when I finish studying I want to go to work in any region and that my parents will come with me, so I give them the peace they have always wanted.

I hope you enjoy this post, see you next week :)

Ursidae spp.

Ailuropoda melanoleuca (Panda Bear)

Hi people! Today I’m going to talk about animals, specially my favorite animal which is …. BEARS! So you are asking why bears is my favorite animal, it’s because they are fat and hairy. I always wanted to hug a bear, I find adorable, playing with her hairy tummy and mounted on them as if they were a horse. Sometimes I imagine that bears are like dogs, but so much bigger and hungry.  They are different kinds of bears, polar bears which are in risk due to global warming, so we should take care of the planet or these beautiful creatures disappear. Also we have grizzly bear this species is one of the biggest bears that exists in America, they like to be alone except salmon season where they meet and eat together as one family. But the bear I love most is the panda (like everybody) we all love this bear because it is one of the most tender animals that exists, on the Internet there are many videos and pictures showing the tenderness of these animals. If I had money definitely would adopt a bear, but I don´t have money or even a space where I leave it, so the videos are the only way to view them :(

This is my blog,
Share your favorite animal in the comments.

See you next week.
